This is just something I've been thinking about for a while...

I'm considering doing a comic like one of my friends are doing for their original story here at dA. Recently I've been taking a class on graphic novels to learn about how to make comics: Drawing in the panels, choosing the perspective, etc. We had to come up with a short story, & for my story I used Fisco the Wizard & Ginger the Witch from "Tales of Armile". Now that I worked a little on that, I feel like I want to make a comic instead of having it written out like my Crash fanfics are. But in order to do that, I'm hoping for a drawing tablet so I can finally switch to digital art. I'd be able to add more depth to my characters with effects & better lighting than I do traditionally. if I do get a drawing tablet, then I’ll be able to start the story right at the beginning of the year.

So, what do you guys think? Would it be easier to write it out or actually bring these characters to life in a comic-format?

Well... it depends.

If you want to spend less time, a written story would be better because it doesn't take much time to write a single chapter, even in those days when you're busier than usual. But if you really love drawing more than writing (like me), then a comic would actually be a good idea, since you'll attract more people to be interested in your OCs with a comic than with a story format. Now the biggest challenge when doing a comic is scheduling the time, which is still the only thing I'm trying to manage with it now, because in my case I take at least 1 week to do a single page (there's people who can do it in two or three days, but I can't do faster than this XD). And school doesn't help with this short free time we have, either, but I guess there's still a way to amend the situation.
